DAY EXCURSION - Husky Dog Sledding
Day Trips & Port Excursions
Husky Dog Sledding
During January to March Southern Finland usually is blanketed in snow and deep in the National forest our team of husky dogs is waiting to run!
These active, friendly dogs are well trained racing dogs, that spend their winters pulling sleighs with their head Musher. They are part of his family and the small team is friendly with his children and all of our guests!
Husky Dog Sledding: Learn about harnessing the dogs and life with husky dogs before taking turns around the track and in the forest route. Our small groups mean that everyone gets ample share of taking turns with the dogs (1 or 2 teams running) and lots of interaction with the dogs. Time with the dogs is 2 hours, and guests have the flexibility to try out different paths and can stop and start as they wish. Warm drinks and snacks are available by open fire in the Kota tent (Finnish tipi).
For lovers of animals, or those wishing to know how fast these huskies can run - this is the excursion for you!
During December and April, if there is not enough snow for full sledding, we run this excursion in wheeled carts - which is the way that these charming dogs race!
